Who is responsible for your information
OZZY'S BREAKDOWN RECOVERY LTD, trading as Ozzy’s Breakdown Recovery, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Company number: 16951604. Registered office: 37 Radstock Road, Reading, England, RG1 3PS. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email service@ozzysbreakdownrecovery.com or call 07778 348703.
Information we may receive
When you contact us, we may receive your name, phone number, email address, vehicle registration and description, collection and destination details, messages, photographs and recovery requirements. If you choose location sharing, this may include the coordinates provided by your device.
We may also receive booking or vehicle details from a garage, insurer, fleet operator or another person authorised to arrange the recovery. Payment and job records may include amounts, transaction references and service dates. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
How and why we use it
- Enquiries, quotations and recovery
- To respond, assess vehicle suitability, arrange attendance, recover the vehicle and communicate with you. The basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing the agreed service.
- Accounts and legal responsibilities
- To keep appropriate financial records and comply with legal duties. The basis is legal obligation.
- Safety, service records and disputes
- To record vehicle condition, protect property, handle complaints and establish or defend claims. The basis is our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights, and legal obligations where applicable.
- Optional website analytics
- To understand use of the public website when you accept optional analytics. Consent is used for the optional browser storage and associated analytics described in the cookie policy.
- Public gallery photographs
- Photographs may be published where we have appropriate permission or have removed identifying details. Where we rely on consent for identifiable images, you can withdraw it by contacting us.
Website forms and location sharing
The public quote and location panels prepare your message in your browser. They do not automatically send the form contents to us. You choose to continue in WhatsApp or your text app and press Send there. The ordinary quote form does not create a booking or take payment.
Precise location is requested only after you select a location action and grant browser permission. You can enter a postcode or road manually instead. This website does not continuously track your location.
The separate commercial-enquiry form submits its stated fields to our server when you send it. Booking, payment and customer-tracking links are separate services: information you provide there is used for the relevant booking or transaction.
How long information is kept
We keep personal information for no longer than needed for the reason it was collected. The period depends on whether an enquiry becomes a booking, the need for communication and service records, accounting duties, complaints, insurance matters and applicable legal limitation periods. Information may need to be retained for longer where a dispute or legal obligation requires it.
Website-gallery uploads are processed into smaller image files and metadata such as embedded GPS information is removed. This does not remove information visible within the photograph itself. A hidden gallery photograph can still be available through its image link; deleted uploaded photographs are removed from the gallery files.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or obtain a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting processing already lawfully carried out. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal duties or establish legal claims.
Contact us using the email or number above. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. We do not use these public enquiry forms to make solely automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please contact us first so we have an opportunity to address your concern.
